Publisher Hierarchy

Cliques uses a very simple hierarchy to model the different components of your website and organize your ad placements.

  • Publisher

The top-level publishing company which may own many web properties.

    Example: Conde Nast.
    • Site

The web property where your content lives.

      Example: Vanity Fair.
      • Page

A representation of a class of web pages contained in your site. Obviously your website contains many "pages", so you don't need to create a Page for each one.

        Example: "Content Page" or "Homepage".
        • Placement

The portion of your page dedicated to displaying a single ad unit.

          Example: "Sidebar 300x250".
